When COVID-19 hit the UK last spring, many businesses were stopped in their tracks as the focus became fighting the deadly virus. But for one company it became their business to keep wheels moving as they led the way in our emergency response.
INNOV8 Cleaning Solutions Ltd has been providing a high-quality deep cleaning and decontamination service to both large and small ambulance providers in the NHS, private and third sectors since 2012. So they knew exactly what they had to do to support their clients, and help keep the NHS running.
Chris Peake, Managing Director explained, “Once the pandemic hit, we moved straight into business continuity and stepped up to ensure we played our part in the fight against Covid-19. There have been times over the last six months when INNOV8 faced an immense challenge to maintain our regular work and the enormous task of decontaminating our client’s fleet. We never missed a single call out and always bettered the targets agreed to have vehicles operational after contamination. I am immensely proud of the whole team including our admin, managers and operatives who stood up time and time again to be counted and took great personal pride in being part of the frontline battle against the pandemic. When called upon by our clients the INNOV8 team were there every time, without delay.

Registered to ISO 9002 in 2014 and Safecontractor in 2013, the company was recognised in the government publication – Parliamentary Review – (healthcare edition) as the company setting the standard on Infection Prevention and Control in the sector. Many of the company’s employees joined when the company formed back in 2012, and are experienced, motivated and highly trained in Infection Prevention and Control. Every Deep Clean Operative is qualified to the NCFE Infection Prevention and Control level 2, which ensured the company was ready to assist our clients in the battle against Covid-19.
Working across the country, INNOV8 has completed nearly 2000 Covid-19 decontaminations on ambulance, police, highways and rescue vehicles. The decontaminations were completed 24/7 with a busy bespoke call out service. Proactively, the company worked outside A&E departments decontaminating ambulances between calls.
The company has also deep cleaned/decontaminated ambulance stations, doctors surgeries and offices.
The company has achieved this without a single penny increase to its clients despite hugely increased prices for PPE and out of hours labour costs. INNOV8 saw it as an absolute must in the fight against Covid-19. They stuck to their policy of only using Tyvek 5/6 coveralls and purchased a large quantity of P3 half face respirators to ensure their staff were protected with the correct level of PPE. Not a single member of staff has been contaminated by Covid-19 from February to the present day.
